Hi! I’m Hazel
For the past 15 years I’ve built a career using my middle name, Hazel. Some of you may know me as Nicole (or Nicky) too! When I started working with Sassoon, I had to choose a different name to go by to avoid confusion, I had a coworker named Nicole too, but she was a Colorist while I was a Stylist. So I chose my memorable middle name, Hazel!
I knew at a young age that I loved doing hair. So, in High School I took a job in a local salon as a receptionist, where I learned more about the business side of hair. During my time there, I heard for the first time about Sassoon. My bosses and coworkers had gone to their advanced classes in Miami. They had planted a vision in me, that was where I NEEDED to go.
I received my education at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in Santa Monica, California in 2007-2008. I then decided to continue my learning with Sassoon by participating in their Apprenticeship Program in Boston, MA. Once I completed the 2 year program, I stayed on with the team until August 2018. I thoroughly enjoyed the precision of the Sassoon teachings, but I also pride myself on how I approach the cut visually.
After nearly 10 years with Sassoon, I left to start a family and then a new business just north of Boston. Since having my son in 2019, I’ve worked the last 5 years on my own as Hazel’s Hair Studio, inside the Sola Salon Studios. Now, as of January 2024, I can be found at the Sage Collective Salon. This open and airy space is a fresh start for me closer to home. I will be with fellow stylists working for themselves in a community salon. With the arrival of my daughter in March 2024, I look forward to this new chapter for Hazel’s Hair!

Detailed Consultations: I aim for clear communication about what YOU really want in a style, as well as the amount of effort you are willing to put into your style daily.
Taking Texture into Consideration: Not every head of hair is the same! As I get to know your hair, we will find what cutting techniques work best for your hair and the look you want.
Dry Cutting: I always finish by dry cutting and texturizing to adjust the style visually as well technically.
